Obituary

Gerard P. Regan, 82, was born on March 31, 1929 in New York, NY. He passed away on July 5, 2011 in Mission Viejo, CA. Gerard Gerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years Marguerite, who passed on January 11, 2011.

Gerry grew up in New York City and after serving in the Air Force graduated from NYU in 1954. He soon thereafter began his career with United Parcel Service UPS. Gerry served in many different functions for UPS for the first 15 years of his career before becoming District Manager in Pittsburgh. In 1976 he moved the family west to Mission Viejo, CA serving as Region & Labor Relations manager for the West Coast. In 1984 Gerry was promoted to Senior VP of UPS and head of Labor Relations for corporate in Stamford, CT. Gerry served on the corporate management committee and was in charge of negotiating the labor contracts on behalf of UPS with the Teamsters Union. After negotiating a successful national contract Gerry retired in 1989 with Marguerite in Las Vegas.

Gerry is survived by his 6 children: Gerard Jr. Elizabeth, Mark, Chris Lynn, Marguerite Anastassiou Peter, Erin, and Matthew Melissa. Gerry is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A prayer vigil will be held Monday July 11th at 7:00pm at O'Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday July 12th at 10:30am at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciaro Dr, Mission Viejo, CA. Burial services will immediately follow at Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Rd, Lake Forest, CA.
