Obituary

Gerald Michael Driscoll, 85, beloved husband, father, and ?Pop? passed away September 3, 2011, in his home in Irvine, CA. Gerry was born May 31, 1926, in San Francisco, CA, to Mike and Peggy Breslin Driscoll of Co. Cork and Co. Mayo, Ireland.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Liz; daughters Sue Ralph Sabin and Mary Robert Faust; sons Mike Lottie Driscoll and Steve Carol Driscoll; older brother Don Driscoll; grandchildren Mary Kathleen Kerry, Brian Naomi, Thomas, Matthew Lindsay, Eric, Michael, Sara, Cole, Katie, Megan, Molly, and Kevin; and great-granddaughters Madeline, Charlotte, and Grace.

Gerry joined the US Navy in 1944 and graduated college after the war. Gerry and Liz were married in 1950 in San Francisco, and soon after built a home and pig farm in Placer County, California. After relocating to Southern California in 1953, Gerry spent his career as an accountant and property manager. He had a passion for fast, sporty cars and loved camping, boating, and fishing with his friends and large, loving family. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his Irish gift for story-telling.

A Funeral Mass will take place Friday, September 9th, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, CA.

  1. To Liz, Mary, Sue, Steve, Mike and the rest of the “clan”: Gerry was a real “pistol” and will be remembered for his “stories” that kept us laughing over many many years. I’m anxious to hear what God answered when Gerry asked him: “Why did you create more horses’ asses than horses?!” All our love. xxoo
