It was a wonderful Life?

It was a wonderful life
That’s what George would say
Sitting here with us today
There’s nothing I’d change
No, I don’t believe so,
Because if I did?
Some of you I’d not know

To thy own self be true
That’s exactly dear loved ones
And Friends what I’d do
I would get up at sunrise
To chase a little white ball
Or to take out my boat
When the Marlin would call?

My rocking chair
Was my personal throne
With my cat ‘socks? at my feet
I was never alone?
A new house, my dream
I was so proud
Living large and out loud

But what’s most important?
That is easy to pick,
For I know deep inside
What made me thick?
Two incredible children,
Who without them you see,
The man you knew?
I could not be

Twelve grandchildren
Who made me laugh
Five from my side?
Seven from my better half
Plus three more kids
From my bride
There was never a place to hide

A mom who showed
How much she cared
And friends whose lives
They always shared?
I got the chance
To mentor many
Incredible memories, horn of plenty

One lifetime, no expiration date
Blessed by God’s grace,
With a perfect soul-mate
Debra, who knew the private man
My partner, my love?
Doing all that she can

It was a wonderful life
So no tears should you cry,
Though no physical body
I really didn’t die?
One foot in heaven,
And my arm around you,
Feel my spirit?know that it’s true!

*From all those who knew and loved you,
will miss you George?you were ?one of a kind?

  1. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of George.

  2. George Maris says:

Thou hast made me endless, such is thy pleasure. this frail vessel thou emptiest again and again, and fillist it ever with fresh life.

This little flute of a reed thou hast carried over hills and dales and hast breathed through it melodies eternally new.

at the immortal touch of thy hands my little heart loses its limits in joy and gives birth to utterance ineffable.

Thy infinite gifts come to me only on these very small hands of mine. Ages pass, and still thou pourest, and still there is room to fill.

    God Bless

    George
