George Michael Nadeau

George M. Nadeau, 49, died unexpectedly September 19th, 2018, in Escondido, CA.  He was born May 27th, 1969, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a resident of Lake Forest for more than 30 years.

George graduated from El Toro High School, Class of 1987.  Following graduation, he attended USC where he was a member of the Trojan Marching Band.  He then transferred to SUNY at Purchase where he graduated in 1992 Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Fine Arts.  In November 1996, he was presented with the prestigious Princess Grace Award by Isabella Rossellini.

George received his Master’s degree in Photographic Arts & Sciences from RIT in 1997.  His career path continued in the graphic arts field.  He most recently was employed as Manager of Product Development of trading cards at Cryptozoic Entertainment.

George is survived by his mother Hue (Tran) Nadeau; twin sister Jacqueline Brown and her husband Patrick; older sister, Jeanne Braun, her husband, Tony and their three daughters, Haley, Audrey and Leslie; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 28that Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church with burial at El Toro Memorial Park.  A reception will follow at Santiago de Compostela Church.

    For George’s family, I hope we are all able to convey how amazing of a person George was to all of us who knew him through his work in our fandom communities. He had a rare combination of enthusiasm, expertise and kindness that made it a pleasure to just talk to him. The world would be a far better place if there were more people like George, and his absence is sorely felt.

I met George a few times and we communicated back and forth about our love of Outlander, trading cards and life in general. He was a truly wonderful and kind man who gave the best hugs and had that great smile!! He will be greatly missed by all that knew him!! Thank you for sharing him with us!   5. I’m glad I got to know and spend time with George. He was a true gentleman, kind to a fault, and loved knowing that the work he was doing was making people happy. Moving forward in the trading card world won’t be the same without you.
