I am glad dad is at peace, hopefully running, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, cross-country skiing etc. Although we had a difficult family life growing up I appreciated the past several years, seemingly with a different dad.

I met George @ Mt of Olives Adult Day Care where I worked at the time. He was so feisty and we would banter back and forth over different things. He had quite a sense of humor. I got such a kick out of him and learned to care about him very much. He left there and went to Silverdo Senior Living and a while later I was employed there as an Activities Director. There we had time to share more. He is very special to me. I will always remember him and Rosie. By the way, he used to get mad at me when I called her Rosie, he’d say her name is Rosemary. I’d say I like the name Rosie and we begin another banter. It was fun. George, I have very fond memories of you. Rest in Peace my man!

George came into my life at a special time when I was privileged to be taking care of my mother, Elizabeth, who was two years senior to George and at a time in George’s life when his was changing. I hold my time spent with George, close to my heart for several selfish reasons. One, because it brought me much joy to watch two people such as Elizabeth and George interact with each other, one always trying to up the other. My life was enriched through this experience. Two, it gave me the opportunity to share in my dear friend and sister-in-law Rosie’s life and to finally meet her father. George was so lucky to have a daughter like Rosie!
