Obituary
Brown, George ‘Bud’, age 81 of Lake Forest, passed away peacefully at home, November 15, 2014, after a long illness. He was born in Lake Orion, Michigan August 23, 1933 and resided in Michigan until he enlisted in the Navy in 1952. Bud served his country for 20 years and was stationed in Bremerton, Washington; Oahu; San Francisco; San Diego; and Long Beach. He earned the Bronze Star and retired as Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1971. Bud’s second career was with the US Postal Service in Garden Grove. CA and retired after working another 20 years.
Bud enjoyed playing and watching sports, was an excellent bowler, a smooth dancer, a masterful joke teller, and most importantly loved spending time with his family. Bud is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Dorothy; his children, Julie Haddon, Margaret Brown, Robert Brown, and Laura Haupt; and 9 grandchildren, Angela and Deanna Soto, John and Rachel Haddon, Steve Syfers and Jennifer Burgdorf, Heather Pool, Pamela and Charles Brown; and his sisters, Judy Gage and Georgia Kennedy.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, November 22nd, 1 p.m. at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills. Donations on behalf of George ‘Bud’ Brown may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.

We have so many wonderful memories of Bud,Dorothy and the family. All the times we went to the mountains, played cards and just had a great time with everyone. I guess the most wonderful time was when he helped plan the trip to N.C. for the baton group. He had the best ideas for all of us to get to fly around the country with that one trip. We went to San Juan,Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Washington DC and then a side trip for the family, not to mention the actual competition. So many fun times at the Elks Club, always loved watching Bud and Dorothy dance. He was funny, smart and most especially such a family man who was so devoted to his children and wife. We cherish his memory as a beloved friend, He will be missed but never forgotten.

The first time I met Bud in 2006 I fell in love with him-not only did he look like my beloved grandfather he had the same qualities: a family man who was humble but humorous-I don’t trust a man that isn’t humorous-just shared this with Bud’s wife Dorothy the other day.
