Brown
August 23, 1933 – November 15, 2014
Brown, George 'Bud', age 81 of Lake Forest, passed away peacefully at home, November 15, 2014, after a long illness. He was born in Lake Orion, Michigan August 23, 1933 and resided in Michigan until he enlisted in the Navy in 1952. Bud served his country for 20 years and was stationed in Bremerton, Washington; Oahu; San Francisco; San Diego; and Long Beach. He earned the Bronze Star and retired as Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1971. Bud's second career was with the US Postal Service in Garden Grove. CA and retired after working another 20 years.
Bud enjoyed playing and watching sports, was an excellent bowler, a smooth dancer, a masterful joke teller, and most importantly loved spending time with his family. Bud is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Dorothy; his children, Julie Haddon, Margaret Brown, Robert Brown, and Laura Haupt; and 9 grandchildren, Angela and Deanna Soto, John and Rachel Haddon, Steve Syfers and Jennifer Burgdorf, Heather Pool, Pamela and Charles Brown; and his sisters, Judy Gage and Georgia Kennedy.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, November 22nd, 1 p.m. at O'Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills. Donations on behalf of George 'Bud' Brown may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
