Reverend Genevieve J. Harvey May 9, 1923 – May 12, 2019

Reverend Genevieve ‘Jeri’ Harvey, 96, of San Clemente, California passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019. Born on May 9, 1923 in Huntington Park, California to John & Filomena Mazacro, Genevieve lived a long life with pride of her Italian heritage and love for family.

Genevieve resided in South Gate and graduated from South Gate High School. A 40-year employee of Bohemian Distributing, she proudly retired in 1985. She enjoyed lifelong relationships with former classmates and co-workers by attending many reunions. She also lived in Westchester where she raised her son and then in Burbank before retiring to San Clemente in 1986. Continuing education was a lifelong pursuit and, prior to her retirement from Bohemian, she studied to become a Practitioner for the Church of Religious Science then attended the United Church of Religious Science School of Ministry to become a Minister; she graduated in May 1986.

With a zest for life and passion to serve God and mankind, Genevieve enjoyed praying with people and presiding over many weddings and funerals. Her interests included dancing, dining out, going to the theater, traveling the world, playing the washboard, entertaining others, and modeling in fashion shows; most recently in 2018. Her greatest love was for her family. She treasured life with her son, three sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews with their children and grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and more. She loved holiday traditions, celebrating birthdays, and was always ready for a party.

Genevieve is survived by her son Dennis (Jeanie) Harvey; sister, Louise Rush; and loving nieces and nephews with their families.
