    Dear Joann,
I am so sad to hear about Gary’s passing. I know that God will comfort you through this time, and will help you through each moment. It is important to know that he will be with you each step of the way.

I was so glad I got to know Gary when my son Adriel was in his class. He was such a caring, kind teacher and I appreciated his willingness to help me to be firm with Adriel. I also remember when Gary would tell me about his admiration for my son Stephen, who plays football for THHS.

I will miss Gary, and will be praying for you and your family.

    Love,
    Dee Tedesco

  2. Joanne, Karen and Phillip,

It is with such a heavy heart that we send our love and condolences to you. Gary was such a wonderful, caring man and has left his mark on so many adults and countless students. I am sad that he is no longer with us but trust in the Lord that Gary is in heaven, with Jesus, smiling down on us all. His name for me “Captain”, will always have a special place in my heart. We are very thankful to have had Gary in our and our childrens’ lives. We are here for you, if you need anything at all.

God bless and comfort you in this sad time.

    Love,
Ron, Diane, Christopher and Stacy Fikert

    Dear Joanne and Family,

I also worked with Gary at Linda Vista many years ago. Gary was a dedicated teacher and he will be deeply missed. My condolences go out to you and your family.

  4. Dear Joanne,

First, let me tell you how saddened I was to hear of Gary’s passing and how sorry I am for your loss.

While working with Gary for so many years, I was privileged to see the commitment, the passion, and the love he brought to teaching. He was a true professional who loved working with his students, and who also found time to give back to the profession. Gary was a stalwart in SVEA, recognized for his dedication to improving conditions for students and teachers alike. I counted him a friend, and found in him a man upon whom I could rely for his honesty and courage of conviction. We all recognized and counted on his keen sense of fairness and justice and appreciate the dedicated service he provided our organization.

We will all miss our departed colleague, and we hope you are comforted by the knowledge that we loved and cared for Gary.
