Obituary

Gary Michael Caporicci

Born: November 15, 1944, to Shirley and Fred Caporicci, in Berkeley California.

Died: August 24, 2023, at home in Irvine, California with family.

Gary was a good man who loved his family, Catholic faith, and country.  He lived his life personally and professionally believing in hard work, honesty, integrity, and ethics.  These values were passed on to his friends, colleagues, sons, and grandchildren.  In the end, he was still teaching, working, and playing golf until he passed away.

He loved his work as a CPA and would describe himself as being competent.  Colleagues and clients have described him as capable, kind, thoughtful and always willing to teach and support.  Gary loved to write and teach courses for the CPA society and the AICPA.  Annually he would teach multiple courses in person and online.

Gary loved sports as a fan and competitor.  As a Bay Area native, he loved the 49ers, Giants and Golden State Warriors.  In his youth, he loved playing football, baseball, basketball, racquetball and as he got older golf.  Over the last 20 years, Gary loved playing and watching golf so much he would travel all over to play.  During his travels he would sometimes play multiple rounds in a day and always made friends.

Gary is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathy, his sons, Kevin, Brian, and Christopher.  His daughters-in-law Farrah and Megan, and 7 grandchildren, Connor, Aidan, Marin, Matteo, Elena, Lucas, and Cameron.  He is also survived by his sisters, Wendi Caporicci, Julie Pelley, and Jan Pises.
