Gary Lee Brown

October 24, 1946 - November 23, 2006

Brown, Gary Lee
Born Oct 24, 1946 in Warren, PA. Son of Ernest and Lois Brown from Youngsville, PA. Husband of Patricia Brown. Brother of Constance McDaniel and Robert Brown. Father of Candice Aubuchon, Aaron Brown, Alysia Brown and Erik Brown. Grandfather of Andrew and Haleigh Aubuchon and Noah Brown.

Gary was born Oct 24, 1946 in Warren, PA and grew up and lived his childhood years inYoungsville, PA. After meeting his beautiful wife, Patricia at Youngstown State University, the two of them decided to leave their families and moved to California in 1979 to raise their own family. Gary opened his own business, Commercial Fence & Iron Works in 1986, which currently operates in the city of Norwalk, CA. While successfully managing his business, he was also an active member of the Southern California Chapter of the American Fence Association. After completing his work at the state level, Gary moved on to become the president of the American Fence Association, a national organization, where he inspired others to look forward at what the fence industry could become. During his presidency, Gary championed the unification of the local and national chapter as well as established the association’s first scholarship program. Gary’s hard work and unparalleled professionalism will be carried on by his family as they continue to run Commercial Fence & Iron Works with the same enthusiasm Gary displayed.

Gary is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Candice; sons, Aaron and Erik; his three grandchildren, Andrew, Noah and Haleigh. Gary was preceded in death by his daughter Alysia.

Gary lived his life in service of others. Throughout his 60 years, Gary played the role of husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, coach, teacher, mentor and friend. There were many that considered him a father although they may not have been related. He was always first to volunteer for church functions, school fundraisers and industry related programs. Gary’s circle family and friends extends beyond imagination.

Touching so many lives without ever asking for anything in return was Gary’s way of showing all of us the teachings of His Lord, whom has graciously rejoined Gary and his daughter Alysia in eternal happiness.

Thank you Gary for everything you did for us. We miss you deeply!

  2. Dear Patti and family,
We are so saddened to hear of Gary’s sudden passing and can only imagine your pain today. We do share the joy of knowing that Gary’s faith today has him celebrating a wonderful reunion in heaven. My aunt Josie and cousin Beverly who just left to return to Youngsville , sister Billie Jo, all pass their love and wishes for peace for all of you. I plan to attend the vigil and funeral but Vivien is also out of state this week and wishes she could be here to share Gary’s celebration of his wonderful life with you. I can only think how fast the years have gone having shared so many times with Gary from the earliest times we both could remember having grown up just a couple of houses from each other. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Steve and Vivien Meleen

    My heart is broken,

  4. Dear Patty, My husband, Dan Kenney, grew up with Gary. He was sadly surprised to learn of his passing. He & Gary played trains together, and Dan tells me that they would sometimes put them on the same track so that they would crash. A fond childhood memory. It is good to know that he made such a wonderful life and touched so many lives. We are deeply sorry. May you find comfort in knowing that many others share in your grief and your loss.

  5. We were a small group’the Youngsville K12 classmates of Gary, and even though some of us didn’t stay in touch regularly, we still feel the pain and loss of one of us. I share the sentiments of Tom, Steve, and Gib’and many others’and am comforted to know that Gary had such a rich and full life with a beautiful family. My condolences to all of you’especially the grandchildren.
