GAIL ANN PACE

December 22, 1952 – July 10, 2022

Gail passed away on Sunday, July 10 after an 8 year courageous battle with ovarian, peritoneal and metastatic brain cancer.  She is the daughter of William and Patricia Stewart and was born in Spokane, Washington.  She grew up in Cananea Mexico where her father was a mining engineer, attended Saint Benedict's Catholic High School in Minnesota, and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1975 with High Honors.  She is survived by her husband of 45 years James Pace, daughters Michelle Capelouto and Jennifer Reed, four amazing grand kids – Emerson, London, Parker and Palmer, and her brother William Stewart.  Gail was a person of people and relationships.  She leaves a legacy of kindness and goodness for everyone she touched.  It takes a special person and one with heart and soul to be kind and good to everyone – Gail had the heart and soul of a saint.  She had her faith but never talked much about it, she just lived it.  She never expected anything in return for her good deeds from anyone and always stood in the background not calling attention to herself. She had unconditional faith in humanity; was an excellent gourmet cook; adored her daughters and grandkids; loved the ocean; enjoyed fishing in Mammoth Lakes; but especially enjoyed searching for deer and Happy hours in Mammoth Lakes, and lots of Happy hours with her friends.  She very much enjoyed the simple things like being with her family.  Holidays were a special time for Gail; she always went way out of her way to make goodies for everyone and always made feasts for the family dinner.  She loved and was beloved by all her family and friends and always couldn't wait to see them thinking about what she could do for them next.  She had the gift to make everyone feel special and was a beacon of light for everyone who knew her.  Our most cherished remembrance of her was how she lived her life.  We will never forget Gail, she was beautiful inside and out, and the precious memories will live on in our hearts for forever.
