Obituary

FREDRICK FRED C. MINTIE, age 80, died peacefully on March 3rd, 2010 after a long illness.

Fred was born on September 15th, 1929 in San Jose, California. He moved to Los Angeles as a child and graduated in l947 from Cathedral High School, Los Angeles. In 1951 Fred completed a BA in Business Adm. from Loyola University of Los Angeles, and was the Student Body president and Quarterback for the Lions Football Team.

Fred is best known for his work as a Real Estate Broker in Orange County, California, receiving countless awards of Excellence in Real Estate Brokerage. He retired to Dana Point, California in 1985 where he enjoyed sailing his boat the Pilgrimage.

Fred was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, Dana Point, California, belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Mens’ Retreat Society, World Apostolate of the Blue Army, served as the Church Sacristan, and catechist to incarcerated Youth at the Los Pinos Penitentiary for 10 years. Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Mintie.

Fred is survived by Ann Margaret Mintie, wife; of Fred’s Children: Fred C. Mintie, Jr., of Wichita, KS; Nancy Mintie-Alger of Claremont, CA; Daniel Mintie of Placitas, NM; Kathy Mintie-Kloenne of West Linn, OR; Ann Marie Mintie of Salem, OR; Mary Mintie, of Placentia, CA: Donna Mintie- Homna of Kailua, Hawaii; and of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and of Sr. Beth Ann Dillon, dsmp of Vancouver, BC, Canada; Thomas B. Dillon, Jr., of Lake Forest, CA; Annmarie Potter of Rancho Sta. Margarita, CA; Linda E. Upton, Henderson, NV; Lisa E. Amato of Mayfield Hts., OH and William C. Dillon, of Lancaster, CA.

All services for Fred will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 33926 Calle La Primavera, Dana Point, CA as follows: Sunday, March 7th, 7:30pm – Rosary Vigil and Viewing; Monday, March 8th – Funeral Mass 11am. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Orange, CA immediately following the Mass. No other viewings are scheduled.

Reception will be held at Marie Callender’s, 31791 Del Obispo St., San Juan Capistrano beginning at 2:30pm.
