Frederick Victor Ferketic

Born in Pittsburgh, PA on 2-2-1942 and died at Hoag Hospital in Irvine, CA on 11-3-2016.

Preceded in death by parents Peter and Mary Ferketic. Survived by wife Christine; children Sherri (Genaro) Lopez, Machelle (Vincent) Griffin, Mary Ferketic, Fred (Starr) Ferketic Jr. and Michael Ferketic; grandchildren Trey, Cole and Drew Ferketic; siblings Annie Snyder, Thomas Ferketic and John Ferketic; nieces, nephews, Uncle Francis Gyeseck and many cousins.

Fred graduated from Gannon College and pursued his master's degree at Kent State. He was also a proud Marine.

He retired from Con-Agra, then worked part time for the Irvine Company and spent his time volunteering with the Alzheimer's Association and NBPD, as a church facilitator at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church, and performed various duties at the Canyon Club in Laguna Beach including "Thursday Fred" cashier.

Fred loved his family, his church, helping others and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 6, 4-7pm at O'Connor Mortuary, Laguna Hills, CA. Funeral Mass at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Newport Beach, CA on Monday, Nov. 7 at 11am.
