    Dear Punelli Family~

I will probably be the remotest person to contact you upon this sad occasion.

My Dad owned the grocery store on 30th Street in Des Moines….right across the street from the Punelli’s house. Frank Jr. was my Dad’s “delivery boy”. You know how it goes when you get a little older…..it’s hard to remember where you put your car keys. But I vividly remember how sweet Mr. and Mrs. Punelli were, Mr. Punelli’s suave Italian accent and how nice Frank Jr. was to me, even though I was just a little kid tagging along and probably driving him nuts. I really looked up to him. My folks just thought the world of Frank Jr. When I called my Mother to tell her about the obituary, she got all choked up and asked that I also express her sorrow to your family.

The store is gone….and my Mother tells me a restaurant sits where the Punelli home was….but the memories of nice people can never be eradicated.

I hope all of your beautiful memories of Frank Jr. help to sustain you throughout this difficult period and in the years beyond. God Bless Frank Jr. and all of you.

  5. Cousin Jo Ann:
Although I never knew Frank, my heart goes out to you and your daughters. You were there when my dad died and it meant the world to me and my mom. I bet Dad and Frank are playing golf & talking sports and having a “cold one” with Uncle Harold. *s* Frank is in good hands with other loved ones no longer with us on earth.

    God Bless you,
    Maureen Gatens Thompson
