Francis Cleon
Kemp
December 12, 1925 – October 14, 2015
On October 14, 2015, Francis C. Kemp left behind his earthly garden to join his beloved wife Dorothy and daughter Denna Rae in heaven. Frank served as a radar mechanic in the Army Air Force during WWII and then joined the merchant marine where he discovered his love of the sea and eventually became a commercial fisherman. He built his own 40-foot boat, the Volare, married Dorothy in 1961, and they made San Juan Capistrano their permanent home in 1964. In 1990, he retired as a parimutuel wager from Los Alamitos. Frank and Dorothy renewed their vows in the Serra Chapel at Mission San Juan Capistrano in 1993. His backyard that was once a safe haven for weeds slowly transformed into a magnificent garden where he enjoyed spending his time. We will miss his lectures and are truly grateful for the time he spent being our Granddad!
He is survived by his brother Warner Barber; his son Louis J. Bryant and daughter-in-law Mary Lou Bryant; grandchildren James, Michael, Kevin, and Deni Taree; great grandchildren David, Dana, Kaitlin, and Nicole; great great grandchild Arianna.
