Obituary
Frances Norton Kopp, age 81, of San Clemente, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, 11:54 PM, January 14, 2019, at Saddleback Hospital. The cause of death resulted from a complication during a surgical procedure.
She was born December 24, 1937, in Laguna Beach, a daughter of the late John and Marion Sheelar Norton.
Frances Norton Kopp was raised in Laguna Beach. She is survived by Richard Herbert Kopp, her loving husband for nearly 61 years; their children John Kopp, James Kopp, and Maureen Reddington and seven grandchildren Amanda, Brianna, Emma, Bridgette, Tatum, Jaden, and Emmett and one great-grandchild, Noah.
Frances and Richard created a charmed childhood for their three children. Growing up in the heart of Laguna, they spent countless days roaming the quaint streets of their beach town. They also spent months traveling across America in a motor home.
In 1972, Frances and Richard opened a family heating and air conditioning business, Ocean Air, now run by John and Maureen. They spent their later years traveling the world with family and friends.
Fran went into a deep sleep for her surgical procedure and woke up with God. While none of us were ready for our beloved matriarch to leave us, she lives on in our hearts and memories. It gives us great peace to know she is with God. Fran found her way into many hearts with compassionate love. We know her gracious spirit will live on in us.

Farewell my dear cousin Fran. I will miss our phone visits, our family connection and your optimistic spirit that often inspired me to see the positive in all things. You brightened lives and your generous love for family and friends will live on in the next generations. This world and those whose lives you touched are all the better because you were here.

We are so sorry to lose a longtime neighbor and friend. During her neighborhood walks with Maisie and Dick, Fran always greeted everyone with a smile. She exuded a warmth and kindness that typified her.

We are going to miss Fran so much. One of our favorite things to do was our lunches with Dick and Fran. We would talk and eat and talk some more and laugh a lot. Fran was always happy. Fran and Dick were a perfect match for one another. We lived to hear all the stories about their travels and the latest family developments. Fran’s smile was always warm and bright. We love you Fran.
