Floyd Anthony King

February 20, 1957- October 4, 2025

A true Southern gent who was quick to shake one's hand while flashing a big, genuine smile, Tony's presence was always hard to miss in the room. With a drink in one hand and a laugh that lit up the room, Tony's warm welcome would  always make everyone feel comfortable. A consummate entertainer, yes, he was!

Tony and the love of his life, Marian (married for 18 years) were the adventurous team, who opened their homes and their hearts to friends, family, and strangers—be it  in  the San Francisco Bay area, Southern California's Orange County, Makati and  Baguio City in the Philippines.

Tony was the yin to Marian's yang. They complemented each other and were each other's cheerleader as they pursued their passions post-retirement,  among them traveling all over the world and doing community volunteer work.

In Ireland, Tony experienced and saw where his roots come from, a surprise from Marian, who painstakingly combed through documents on the web and arranged for a genealogist meeting. Of course, a huge part of this research included the best Irish whiskey distilleries, which Tony was always quick to point out  must be spelled with an "e" , as opposed to the inferior "whisky" produced by its Scottish neighbors.

Floyd Anthony King was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Floyd James King and Evelyn Helen Maudlin, who pre-deceased him. Tony joins Mark and Don in eternal rest.

Tony  will be missed by all, most especially by Marian and  their  grandkids, Camden, Kloee, Dylan and Robert, his siblings, Gary, Carol, and Kathy, his brothers and sisters-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
