Evelyn Joyce Pharis Martin, age 92 of Mission Viejo California, died in her home on March 1st, 2019. This is exactly 7 years to the day and time of the passing of her beloved husband William (Bill) Thomas Martin. Her daughter Diane was with her when she died.

Evelyn was the purchasing agent for the Saddleback Unified School District for 30 years. She was a member of the Club 55 of Mount of Olives Church in Mission Viejo. Her neighbors were special friends that helped her maintain her house and filled her days with lively conversations.

Evelyn and Bill loved each other dearly in life and in death. They shared a passion for Yosemite National Park. Daughter Diane Martin of Wawona, California took care of her father and then her mother throughout their last days.

Evelyn is survived by her sister Mary Elisabeth Wilfert, daughters Diane Martin Butler, and Carol Stalder, and granddaughters Holly Stalder Baldoz, Li Stalder, Mei Stalder, Rose Stalder, and great grandson August Baldoz. Evelyn was the daughter of Emily and Fred Pharis of Natchitoches Louisiana.

Services will be held at the O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653 on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10am. Graveside memorial at El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Rd will be at 11:30 am.
