Eva Lee Dongieux, 97, of Lake Forest, CA. went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 9, 2023. Eva was born July 11, 1926 in Jackson, Kentucky to Robert and Jenny (Roark) Trent. She graduated from Jackson High School. Eva decided to boldly move to California in the early 1950's. She married her true love Gerald (Gerry) Dongieux in the 1960's. Sadly, Gerald passed away at the young age of 47. After extensively mourning her first husband, Eva then met and married Fred Peterson. Tragically, he passed away too soon.

Years later, Eva met her current. husband, Antonio (Tony) Esquivel and they married in the early 2000's. They spent many years traveling and enjoying their life together. Eva was embraced by all of Antonio's family. Throughout the years and on most weekends, you'd find Eva and Antonio enjoying a meal, chatting with the servers, and toasting Mexican coffees with friends and family at El Ranchito Restaurant. Eva loved to travel, play tennis, workout, attend church and shop with her friends.

Eva is mourned and survived by her husband Antonio Esquivel, her step-son, Michael Esquivel, step-daughters, Kristina Esquivel and Suzanne Steinshouer, step-grandchildren, Emma and Sarah Esquivel, Nicole Reichard, Edward, Jonathon, and Daniel Steinshouer and nieces, Brenda Vore, Janet Fuller, Sheila Trent, Treva Betz and nephews, Fred Trent, Russel Nichols, Glen Nichols, and Michael Trent. She is also mourned and survived by her closest and dearest friends, Faith Newman, Joan Massucci and Leah Robertson. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, first and second husbands, her 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

A celebration of her life will be held on October 25 ^th at 10 AM at O'Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. Eva will be laid to rest at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, CA.
