I’m so sorry Gene has passed. He was a delight, I thought of him as my second father. Always a smile. I remember him eating hamburgers in the crystal room cafeteria at LAMC…….thinking “that’s not on his diet!”… but enjoy anyway. He really lived life. My sympathy & love to you all.

Mary:
Just eleven months ago, you were with us when Mom died.
We know what you are going through and you have our heartfelt wishes.
Sincerely,
Martha and Joe Strapac

Mary & Family,
Our prayers are with you at this time. I know Gene is having a “conversation” with his new friends, I don’t think he ever knew a stranger every one he met he made them feel special.

Dear Mary and Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of the news of Genes passing. I can only think of the many times, you and he made me feel at home and part of your wonderful family. Thank you. It was a pleasure to see the love both of you have for one another, in good times and in bad. All men could learn from Gene. Mary, God bless, I wish you well. Jerry

Dearest Mary and family,
It is with great sadness that I write this note. You and Gene have been a fixture in our lives since our days together on White Avenue, almost 50 years ago. I wish I was able to be there for you and your family, as you and Gene have always been there for us. Your entire family has been in my thoughts and prayers all week, and will continue to be. Gene’s gentle spirit will remain with us always.
Love,
Dee Ann McDaniel-Hall
