Obituary
Esther Oliva 89, of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2019 in Trabuco Canyon, CA.
Esther Oliva was born in Havana, Cuba to Marcial and Carmen Pierres on April 14th, 1930, the youngest of 3 children. She attended Catholic school and later studied accounting and worked for Parke-Davis, America’s oldest and largest pharmaceutical company in pre-Castro Cuba.
She fled communist Cuba and emigrated to the United States in 1965, and settled in Los Angeles, CA, working in accounting for JC Penny, while also studying English at Hollywood High School.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband Hugo, daughter Esther,
son Hugo Jr., and grandchildren Sarah, Michael, Gabrielle, Isabella and Christian.
Besides spending time with her family and friends, Esther enjoyed traveling, movies, trying new restaurants and attending sporting events. She had a bright, strong, and energetic personality with an infectious laugh and most of all touched many lives with her selflessness and generosity.
Please join us for a reception in the church hall after the service.
