Ernesto Diola Casquejo was born on October 12, 1937 in Cebu, Philippines. His life from the start was one of deep faith. As soon as he was able, he became an altar server at his home parish. He was the President of the only men’s precedium of the Legion of Mary at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He joined St. Nicholas Parish in 1979 and was an active member of the choir, a Eucharistic minister to the homebound and sick and an altar server after his retirement.
Ernie was a civil engineer and retired from the civilian corps of the US Air Force after 21 years. He loved to fish and took many deep sea fishing trips. He also loved to sing and was a member of the English and Filipino Choirs at St. Nicholas. He loved musicals and the music of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole which he played often at home.
He passed away peacefully on May 6, 2019 surrounded by loved ones and caregivers. He leaves behind his wife of 52 year, Carmelita; his daughter, Lernie, her husband, Chris and their two daughters, Marinna and Kiana; his daughter, Luz, her husband, Patrick and their two children, Sofia and Ben and his son, Vincent.
