Obituary

Our beloved brother Emile had a severe irrecoverable brain hemorrhage on Wednesday 08/20/2014. We were stunned (& still are) especially after a successful second heart surgery to fix a congenital condition three and a half weeks earlier.

Emile was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1968. As a child he was gifted with a talent to pick up languages at a very young age. As a young adult and even during the Lebanese War, he was as cheerful and friendly as ever. As an adult, Emile became known as ‘Al Mukhtar’ or the ‘Mayor’. Emile was a friendly face around town. With his lovable smile, he greeted everyone even if it was a stranger. Everyone knew him and if not they became to know him. He permanently moved to California in 2007, then immediately made friends and joined a bowling team. He loved to bowl; his last trophy was 2 months ago. He loved to play with his nephews and niece. He was a kind, innocent, caring man who loved dancing. Emile knew how to shake it on the floor.

Emile was preceded in death by both of our parents, John I. Manneh and Yvette J. Manneh who passed away in 2011. God bless their souls.

Emile is survived by three brothers (Johnny, Michael, & Marwan), two sisters-in-law (Nayla & Talla), two nephews and a niece (Andrew, Gabriel, and Milana).

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I had the amazing privilege to know Emile, he attended all of the social and recreational events in the city of Irvine for the past 5 or 6 years and was even around through my pregnancy and getting to meet my daughter for her first year of life and he always brought her cards and made her gifts at our events, I will and cherish those gifts and moments and the weekly phone callcall with the, “Hey, beautiful!” on the other end! He was a kind, smart, giving, happy, beautiful soul and that and the memories I have with him will remain in my heart! God Bless and Rest in Paradise Emile!
