Obituary

Emelie Louise Konold of Laguna Woods passed away on November 1st. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 25, 1924, to William and Morgianna Kirschner. Emelie received her RN with highest honors from St John’s Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. In 1950 she took a position as Staff Nurse with the Arabian American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia. In 1951 she married John Herbert Konold, an engineer with ARAMCO, on Bahrain Island. Upon leaving Saudi Arabia, Emelie and John traveled the world and then the USA, living in New York City, West Yellowstone, Montana, Utah, Arizona, and San Juan Capistrano, CA. Emelie worked for the American Red Cross Blood Services in Orange County for fifteen years. After John’s death in 1983, Emelie moved to Laguna Woods Village.

Emelie is survived by two nieces, Linda Jordan of Pennsylvania, and Suzanne Meadors of New Jersey, and a nephew, Dennis Kirschner of Long Island, New York.

Emelie will be interred with her husband, John, at Redwood Memorial Estates in Salt Lake City, Utah.
