On Monday, February 22, 2021, Eloina Mendoza Adame, loving wife and mother of nine children, passed-away peacefully at home. She was 89 years old.
Eloina was born on December 6, 1931 in Tlapa, Mexico to Emilio Mendoza Cantu and Carlota Diaz Maldonado. She completed bookkeeping studies after high school and was a homemaker most of her life. On April 21, 1951 she married Enrique Mendoza Adame, Sr. and the two emigrated to the United States in the 1950s. Together, they raised eight children, Eloyna Rivera, Enrique Adame Jr., Edith Adame, Ed Adame, James Adame, Marya Wallace, Victor Adame and Carlos Adame. One daughter, Rosa Maria, passed-away at a very young age.
Eloina was strong in her Catholic faith and even began a Spanish rosary group near her home. She enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends – including hosting international exchange students – traveling and reading a myriad of books. She loved her home in Laguna Hills, especially the serene canyon views and the many birds that would visit. She missed connecting with her relatives in Mexico and made trips to visit them as often as she could. Everyone who knew her remarked how kind, compassionate and humble she was. She was the embodiment of Love as well as a spiritual mother to everyone she encountered.
Eloina was preceded in death by her father, Emilio, her mother, Carlota, her husband, Enrique, her daughter Rosa Maria, her son, James, and her brother Maurilio. She is survived by her seven children, Eloyna, Enrique Jr., Edith, Ed, Marya, Victor and Carlos, her brother Carlos, and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
There will be a Rosary Prayer Service at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral Mass to be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Saint Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel at 10:00 am. Flowers may be sent to O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653.
