Obituary

Ellen Therese Engelerdt, nee O’Leary, 76, was born June 8, 1933 in Queens, New York and passed away September 1, 2009 in Mission Viejo, CA. She worked as a Registered Nurse who dedicated her life to nursing and the care of elders for forty years. Ellen’s study of home heath care in comparison to care in nursing facilities was published in the National Journal of Nursing. Ellen is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, James; daughters, Anne Daniel Salcedo, Jeanne Chris Rouk and Cathlin Eric Philpott; sons, James J. Stephanie, Peter Christina and John Priscilla; sister, Sr. Catherine O’Leary, Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, NY and 11 grandchildren. Ellen was preceded in death by her son, Thomas in 2000.

A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, 9/8/09 at 10:30am at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciero Dr., Mission Viejo, CA. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:00am prior to Mass. Burial will immediately follow the Mass at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Orange, CA.   1. to Annie and the Engelerdt family – I am thinking of you today as you attend the rosary and funeral mass, and know that there will be tears for the loss you are feeling.
