  1. Dear Uncle Mike, Karen and Janice,
Our sincerest condolences to all of you. We all will miss Auntie Ellen very much. She was always lively and friendly and so hospitable to all of us whenever we visited Southern California. I will remember pushing her around in her wheelchair at the Getty Museum in LA last year in the spring when I was visiting after my neurosurgery conference was over and how cheerful she was despite the difficulties she had with her respiratory condition. We were all so happy when all of you could make it back to Singapore earlier this year for Shauna’s wedding, but I guess many of us knew that it was perhaps the last trip she would ever make out to Singapore given the strenuous nature of long distance flying and the severity of her medical condition. Alas that premonition came true. But we will remember her for the generous jovial spirit she was and the many great meals we had together both in LA and in Singapore. Thank you Uncle Mike for being such a dedicated and loving husband to her and for taking care of her so well during what must have been a very trying illness for all concerned. Yours is an example for all of us to emulate. Karen, Cameron and I wish all of you our most heartfelt condolences and grieve immensely at her tearful passing.
