FRANCUZ, Elisabeth Evans, 1931 – 2008. Elisabeth Francuz died on February 2, 2008 at the age of 76 at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California of respiratory arrest. She was born on May 23, 1931 in Los Angeles, California to Lewis and Virginia Leary. She has a younger sister, Margaret Peg Leary.

She trained and became a registered nurse. She met her future husband, Louis Francuz, by an introduction from her best friend at nursing school. They were married for close to twenty years when Louis passed away. Elisabeth was left to raise eight children on her own. She was a devoted mother and a deeply spiritual person.

She loved to hold family gatherings and made all the food herself for her large family. She also enjoyed board and cards games.

Elisabeth was humble, gentle, gracious, strong and a kind soul. She loved playing the piano. During the Christmas season, the family would gather around the piano to sing carols and while she played.

Elisabeth was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2006. She is survived by her sister, eight children and eighteen grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mission San Fernando Del Rey on Friday, February 8 at 9:00 a.m. with burial immediately following at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
