Eleanor (Pantoni) Galassi born July 19, 1924 in Abruzzo, Italy…died Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the age of 98.

Eleanor was the wife of the late Gaetano Galassi until his death in 2006.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Teresa (Terry) Lindsay and Toni Bartman (Randy Bartman); five grand-children and 13 great-grandchildren.

She came to America after living through WW2 in 1947. While attending night school a handsome gentlemen approached her thinking she was an American girl, turns out they only lived a few miles from one another in Italy, they married two years later.  They took up residence in the lower east side of New York City, where they worked and started their family.

She was an amazing cook, and loved to entertain her family and friends.  She typically hosted holiday dinners that would start at noon and end at midnight.

She was a strict mother, and her daughters had to obey her rules, but she raised two fine daughters.  She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was proud of having so many great grandchildren.  Her daughters would have to call her at least once a day, sometimes three times a day to let her know they arrived to work and home safe.  If she didn't get a call, she would keep calling until she got an answer.  There is an emptiness not receiving those phone calls, even though they sometimes could be annoying.

When she wasn't feeling well, her daughters would try to cheer her up by telling her they would take her to the casino, her favorite place to go, other than church, of course.  She would perk up and she suddenly felt better.

A Vigil will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 – 7:00pm at O'Connor Laguna Hills Mortuary Chapel, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, Ca 92653.

A Funeral Mass is to be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 – 1:00pm at St. Kilian's Catholic Church, 26872 Estanciero Dr, Mission Viejo, Ca 92691.

Interment will be held at Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, Ca 92630 on Monday, February 13, 2023.
