Eleanore Marie Covellone

Eleanore Marie Covellone, 98, a long time resident of Orange County, CA, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013.

Mrs. Covellone was born in Amsterdam, NY on July 8, 1914. Eleanore and her family moved to Huntington Park, CA in 1920. She graduated from Huntington Park High School in 1931. She later met and married Carlo W. Covellone Jr. on August 23, 1936 at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Huntington Park, CA.

Mr. Covellone worked for the U.S. Post Office (now the U.S. Postal Service) and retired in 1973 as Assistant Postmaster, Director of Operations, for Los Angeles. He passed away in February of 1982. Mrs. Covellone was a homemaker, an artist and also served on the Women's Auxiliary of the U.S. Post Office. The couple enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and were frequent world travelers during their 45-year marriage.

Mr. and Mrs. Covellone had two children, Loralee (Lee) E. McKibbin of Vancouver, WA and Thomas C. Covellone (Cathy) of Templeton, CA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Covellone's funeral will be held at San Francisco Solano Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery & Mausoleum in Lake Forest, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
