Ellie was born on a farm in Sycamore Kansas in 1937 to Don and Lavona Troutman. She was raised on farms around Kansas until she moved, along with her sisters, Evelyn Stubblefield (Troutman) and Sylvia Phillips (Troutman) to Wichita where she attended high school.
She was in nursing school when she met her future husband. Seven days later they were engaged and married within the year. They celebrated 43 years of marriage before Richard went home to the Lord. They were both called into the ministry, after seminary they moved to CA to serve at Crescent Ave. Baptist Church.
In 1969 they moved to Dana Point, CA to serve at Capistrano Valley Baptist Church. They eventually attended Heritage Christian Fellowship where Ellie served as a vital member for more than 25 years.
Ellie had a lifelong passion for Christ. Throughout her life serving the Lord was her prime focus demonstrated through her seemingly endless generosity and commitment to caring for the needs of others. Everyone has been touched by Ellie, she was a mother, friend, sister counselor. Whenever anyone needed anything, they knew to call Ellie. She was a devoted student and teacher of scripture participating in as well as leading Bible study groups of all ages her entire life. We love you Ellie more than words can say. You were at both my children’s birth and supported us all these years. Your love for my family cannot be replaced. I love you like a mom and are so blessed that you have been such a big part of our family. Heaven is rejoicing! You are loved by so many. An angel here on earth and a very beautiful angel in heaven.

Ellie will always hold a special place in the Carlisle family. She was a true servant of the Lord that loved God and others.
Devoted to her family and friends, Ellie was always there for others. Judy and I cherish the many events, travels, and services we shared together.
Our prayers and support for the family will be in our thoughts and prayers, all of whom we consider family.

I will miss my sister so very much. We talked on the phone two or three times a week and I visited her in California three to four times a year. I had to cancel two trips this year because of covid and now wish I had taken a chance to visit. I loved attending small group and church with her when I was in Ca. since everyone made me feel like family. She and Dick gave me a place to live with two small boys in 1974 and our families became one for the rest of our lives. I can’t say enough about how she helped me over the years and my sons and I loved her so much. Love and miss you Ellie. Hugs in Heaven.
