It has been my daughter, Aubrey’s and my privilege to have been involved with Girl Scouts with the Makins, since Courtney and Aubrey were in 1st grade. We have many special memories of meetings at the Makins’ home. Elaine was a regular participant at these meetings. It was our pleasure to get to know her and to have her help the girls with their activities on a regular basis. I know Elaine enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports as well. I remember one soccer season when Courtney and Aubrey played together that Elaine came to every game. I was a little surprised at first, because she was recuperating from an injury. Being confined to a wheelchair did not stop her from cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines. How blessed your family is to have had such a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and grandmother for so many years. Our hearts ache for your loss, and we pray that your memories and faith will give you strength.
