Obituary
Eileen Mae Alsop, of Garden Grove, California, entered Heaven on August 31, 2015. She was born on June 3, 1925 to Harry and Nell Delay in New Marion, Indiana, and was welcomed Home by her parents and two sisters Arwilda and Lucille. She is remembered in love by her five daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Alan Graas, Charlene and Carl Leggieri, Karen and Stephen Black, Cheryl and Bill Minshew, Patty and Chris Jung; and by her 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A life may be measured by the number of years, months and days between the first breath and the last. By this measure, Eileen was 90 years, 2 months, and 28 days. A better, more meaningful measure of an abundant life is the number of times that the three words “I Love You” have passed across the lips or entered the ear. In this way, Eileen’s life can be measured in the hundreds of thousands. She had an infectious laugh that charmed us all. And she loved the Lord and served Him all of her life.
A memorial service will be held at Garden Grove United Methodist Church on September 12, 2015 at 10:00 am, followed by a private graveside service at El Toro Memorial Park. Flowers may be sent to the church or gifts in her memory may be sent to the Orange County Center of the Braille Institute.

My Aunt Eliene was always so very dear to me. I have deep regrets as I can’t return to California for her celebration! She is rejoicing in her reward as she sits at the feet of Jesus perfect in mind and body. This wonderful Godly woman will be sorely missed! Auntie you were always special to me and I take great comfort knowing I will see you again! Love Nate and Vic

Thank you Pam. We will miss all the ladies at Kathryn Jane’s including your Mom! Even though my Mother was only there eight months, there was definitely a sense of being a family!

Thank you Nate! The sadness we feel at this time of loss is certainly tempered by the joy that our Mother’s are in the arms of our precious Lord Jesus!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Eileen was my great-aunt, as her sister Lucille was my grandmother. I remember visiting Eileen and going to Disney Land as a child, and then also going on a west coast trip in college and stopping by her house and hanging out with her. She also came to Texas at least once or twice that I remember. She was a super nice lady, but what is most important is knowing she is with the Lord right now, as that is the ultimate comfort.
