Obituary

With his family surrounding him with love, our beloved husband, father, and GP, quietly passed away at sunset on July 16, 2013. Since his birth on August 3, 1943, he has enjoyed making memories with his family, especially his two grandchildren, Cade and Isabelle. After his retirement from the textile industry, he spent many relaxing days on the golf course trying to achieve the perfect swing. He also enjoyed traveling abroad with friends, and playing golf around the country.

You will be missed and forever in our hearts.
This is not “goodbye” but rather “until we meet again”.

Rest in Peace Ed/Dad/GP. We love you!

As his grandchildren were one of his greatest joys, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to their school:

I will miss Ed and the wonderful father, grandfather and husband he was. He was a very proud man and good friend. I remember the looks he would give with out saying a word you knew what he was thinking. I guess that happens when you know someone for over 30 years. I’m glad I have those special memories of spending time with Ed, Dolores and their girls. Even though he is no longer with us these memories will live on forever. Thank you, Sandy Ueeck

  2. I had the privilege of working with Ed for many years. His great sense of humor, sharp mind and extraordinary gift for mentoring will be remembered and appreciated always. Sincere condolences to his wonderful family.

Ed and I met when we were six years old at St. Mathews School in Conshohocken, Pa. We went from first to twelfth grades together. We met Dolores when she came to St. Matthews for high school..
In the early sixties, Butch met Ed when he came to work at Heplon Industries, where Butch was. In fact, Ed at first worked for Butch’s Dad. A few years later we began our journey together. We went from the North to the South and finally to the West Coast. We have so many wonderful memories from all those years! Ed never changed – he was still the same great guy we met years back.
Our children have also have a long relationship and now their children are doing the same thing.
All our thoughts, prayers and love go to Dolores, Cheryl, Rich, Missy, Anthony, Cade and Isabelle. To Ed, we say Ciao until we meet again!

  4. I met Ed back in the early 90’s. We both shared a lifetime in the Carpet Industry. We became good friends with both Ed and Dolores and shared many good times with both of them.
I always enjoyed Ed. He was easy going, loved his family and enjoyed a night out for Dinner and a Show.
We will miss him and Pray for his fanily to be safe and healthy.

It’s hard to put in words the huge impact that Ed has had on my life. I was just a scrapper when he hired me in 1998. I almost didn’t take the job because I thought he was too grumpy when he interviewed me. Boy, had I misread him. He had the kindest heart, and treated people with such dignity. What I learned from has taken me places in my life that I never would have gone to had I not met Ed. I have so many wonderful memories of him like the time he sent me to Georgia to take his Six Sigma class for him because he had to be at another event in the desert. When they called role for “Ed Hanger” and I answered, well, that was entertaining. I had such deep affection for Ed, and the world is a sadder place without him. Sending love and healing to his family who I know will miss him terribly. He spoke lovingly of you all the time.
