Obituary

A memorial service for Edgar James (Jim) Hinkson, 85, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, 20 January 2018 at the O’Connor Mortuary on Alicia Parkway in Laguna Hills. The family will receive visitors from noon until the time of the service.

 

Mr. Hinkson passed away at his home on Tuesday, 11 January 2018. The service will conclude with military honors.

 

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jean R. Hinkson; his sisters Mary and Betty; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; a host of good friends and neighbors; and his beloved dog JJ.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

 

Jim loved his country and was a member of the U.S. Army for five years. After military service, he settled in California where he worked for and retired from Orange County.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contribution be made to your favorite charity in Jim’s memory.

    Jean,

    So sorry to just hear about this, so many great memories with you and Jim.
    Jim taking us kite flying as kids, sitting on his lap and letting us drive around the circle and go look for the kites that broke and were on golf course.
    Hinkson Field with the big rock!!!
    Holidays spent together with our family. Him keeping my picture of me getting my first pair of boots in his wallet. All priceless memories.
    Not to mention, the time he spent with DJ those first few years, Disney shows …..His love for Sir!
    He will be missed you all are always in my mind and appreciated.
