Edgar Eugene Bailey, III
August 30, 1966 – September 25, 2026
Psalm 18:2
The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress and my Deliverer;
my God is my Rock in Whom I take refuge,
my Shield and the Horn of my salvation, my Stronghold.
Edgar Eugene Bailey, III was born August 30, 1966 in Orange, California, to his parents Edgar Eugene Bailey, Jr. and Karen Ellen (Finley) Bailey. The second of his parents’ fourteen children, the family moved to Mission Viejo, California in 1969, where Edgar grew up and attended Mission Viejo High School, excelling at mathematics, sciences, and wrestling; while also pursuing martial arts training outside of school. After graduating high school in 1984, Edgar attended Saddleback College, and then South Baylo University where he fulfilled his dream of studying East Asian medicine, graduating from their former certificate program in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. In the years following, Edgar often postponed personal endeavors in order to assist his family during his father’s stroke recovery, and later following his mother’s passing. As life progressed, Edgar’s vocational path involved a variety of jobs within the realms he most enjoyed - physical security, both private and large venue; sales in healthcare supplements and various other products; eyewear manufacturing positions with Oakley, Inc.; surgical instruments manufacturing positions with Medtronic, Inc.; as well as entrepreneurial ventures in real estate, social media marketing, and crypto currency. Along the way, in 1995, his daughter, Karyn Renee was born, and she remained the jewel of his heart throughout the rest of his life, even in the most challenging of times. He was ever proud of her gifts and accomplishments; and believed that her life would be one of great and unique significance, beyond even her own expectations.
A life-long learner, with boundless curiosity and zeal for life, Edgar had many interests and pursued knowledge in numerous subjects. He was first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ, and a man of deep faith in God who devoted countless hours to Biblical studies; in addition to philosophy, theology, world religions, global history, politics, natural sciences, technology, and current events. Edgar was well known for his eagerness to discuss any and all of these topics with anyone at any time – it was his way of caring for and sharing with those in his world. He also enjoyed music, film, television shows, YouTube videos, and playing chess. Most notably, Edgar loved to laugh, and had a keen and quick sense of humor, finding the comedy or irony in any circumstances, including his own.
In his later years, Edgar lived in Hacienda Heights with family, and attended Aletheia Christian Church, where his brother, Don Bailey is pastor. A private person, who valued his time alone, he also treasured the times he spent with family, friends, and acquaintances. On September 25, 2026, Edgar passed away and entered Heaven, while at home, with family near.
Edgar is survived by his daughter, Karyn; 13 siblings (Margaret, Ariel, Don, Barbara, David, Mary, Eddi, Orion, Jesse, Samuel, Isaac, James, and Noraline); 36 nieces and nephews (Tatiana, Sierra, Luke, Samuel Peraz, James Michael, Vanessa, Jack, Olivia, Juliana, Ashton, Sloane, Chase, Matthew, Nathan, Jared, Caleb, Jesia, Justus, Jalon, Judah, Jordan, Jenesis, Alexandra, Abigail, Elijah, Kenneth, Kaiden, Krawford, Kingston, Desiree, Charles, Viveka, Clementine, Gabriella, Emmett, and Xavier); 4 grandnieces and grandnephews (Wesley, Madelyn, Baer, and Savannah); and 1 more grandniece on the way.
