  2. Dear Family of Dr. Sigmund A. Kosewick,

I was saddened to read in this morning’s “Bakersfield Californian” of the “Graduation” of my friend, Dr. Sigmund A. Kosewick, whom I had known for many years.

I followed his appointment to Sequoia Area VIII Developmental Disabilities Council. He was a tremendous resource to me in learning the field. As a school administrator, having survived ADD/HA with dysgraphia, with one of our four children being eligible for Kern Regional Center services, I relied on Sigmund’s willingness to share his vast knowledge and wisdom in my work with schools, parents, children, Mental Health Association in Kern County and aiding in obtaining services for others in our communities agencies.

Till we meet around our Fathers throne, we will never know how many people benefited by knowing Sigmund.

  3. To John & Suzanne and your families, my deepest sympathies to you and your loved ones. Thinking about your Father and Mother I can’t imagine how blessed and loved you must feel to have been born to two wonderful people. I will never forget being invited to their 50th wedding anniversary and listening to those two singing together. To see the love they had for each other, that was priceless.

My prayers go out to you and your families, May the peace of our Lord be with you at this time.

    Love Joe

  4. I was the pastor of the Bakersfield Friends Church from its beginning in 1979 until 1986. I returned from my new home in Indiana a few times for visits and was always happy to see Sigmund and Florence. I heard that she died earlier and when I was in Bakersfield earlier this month to visit my parents, I saw that Sigmund had died. He was a wonderful man and always a great encouragement to me as pastor even though he was Catholic and came only because Florence was a Quaker. I learned a lot from him and always appreciated his kind words, regular attendance at worship, constant support, and refreshing sense of humor. I am grateful for the years I knew him and the time that our paths crossed.
