Obituary
Douglas Leonard Albin, 83, of Mission Viejo, CA, passed away peacefully at his home on October 18, 2023. Doug was born on August 5, 1940, in Vermillion, South Dakota. He spent his early years in South Dakota before the family moved to Aurora, Colorado, and eventually Southern California, where he graduated from Morningside High School in Inglewood.
Doug spent most of his career as a salesperson, having worked for American Optical in the mid-1970s before buying a small Northern California mountain town with a restaurant, lodge, and general store. Returning to a career in sales, he started working for Seal Science in the late 1990s before retiring in 2022.
He was an avid bowler, having bowled several 300 games over the many years he spent on the bowling lanes. He loved all sports, but none more than his beloved USC Trojans football. He loved to travel spending time with friends visiting Cabo.
Doug is survived by his loving family, including his sons, Chris and Debbie (Darrigo) Albin, David and Cyndy (Canning) Albin, brother Don Albin, sister Lori Obermeyer (Albin), stepdaughter Camela (Barsotti) Roberts, stepdaughter Tamara (Barsotti) and Jeff Huggins, and stepson Edward and Brandy Johns. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angel (Politz) Albin, father Clarence (Nick) Albin, mother Leone (Satter) Albin, sister Janette Albin, and brother William (Bill) Albin. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Doug will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His warm presence and love for life will always be remembered.
May he rest in peace.
