Dorris Mae
Hazard
February 3, 1921 – April 6, 2007
After an incredibly courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, our beloved wife, mom, ?Granny? and ?Mod?, Dorris Hazard, 86, passed away on Good Friday, April 6, 2007. Luckily, she was essentially pain free during her illness, and passed away at home with her family at her bedside in Mission Viejo. Dorris was born in 1921 in Orange, CA. She graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, CA; married Warde in 1942, remaining together for 64 years. They lived in Long Beach until 1979, then moved to Mission Viejo, assembling a new network of lifetime friends. She was an accomplished artist and member of the Laguna Niguel Arts Assn., having displayed many of her paintings in Laguna and Hawaii. She was a musician, traveler, and jack-of-all-trades, but mostly, an enthusiast of life. She had an uninhibited ability to enjoy not only her own activities, but to greatly enjoy the activities of others. Her family, friends, and sorority sisters were the most important things in her life. Her affable, gregarious nature was a true gift from God. Dorris is survived by her husband, Warde; son Larry & Karil; daughter Sharon & Darryl; granddaughter Kelly & Craig and grandsons Anthony & Lana; Greg & Trina; and great grandkids Trevor, Ryan, Natalie and Gracie.
