Donna is remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmotherand caring sister, as well as contributing to many other’s lives.
Donna was born in Roberts, Wisconsin on August 22, 1928. She attended college in Minnesota where she studied bookkeeping. She was married to William Godknecht in September of 1951 and shortly thereafter, they began raising their family.
Widowed in 1982, Donna spent her time gardening, raising her younger children and traveling. She enjoyed cooking but not cleaning up the dishes. One of her favorite sayings was, and still is, ‘Praise your Father.’
She will be greatly missed.

Hi to all 7 children and the wonderful extended family group, I am so sorry I cannot be there at the service but I am thankful that I was able to speak with your mom only a few weeks ago, I credit your mother with giving me a spirit for life even as I get older and my body starts to take it’s tour down the road of middle age and beyond. She was a beautiful person. I have fond memories of our times together and she will be missed by all of her friends and wonderful family that she helped to create. Your friend for life, Cheryl
