Donald Kenneth MacLean, 81, was born December 28, 1936 in Grenville, Quebec, Canada and passed away April 13, 2018 in Mission Viejo, California after suffering a stroke. Don proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for ten years, made two tours to Vietnam, and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He spent the next thirty-three years as a State Farm Insurance Agent, with offices located in Huntington Beach, California. In 1971, Don moved his family from Costa Mesa to Irvine and ultimately landed in Tustin shortly after retiring. Don liked to spend his time playing ice hockey (goalie) for the Senior Los Angeles Kings, playing bluegrass music (5-string banjo) both professionally and for fun, working as a Marshal at the Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course, golfing, and spending time with his Round Table Marine Corps buddies. Don was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara. He is survived by his son Sandy MacLean and his wife Gina Atencio-MacLean; son Scott MacLean; brother Wendell MacLean; granddaughters Holly and Ally MacLean and grandsons Liam MacLean and Scott Beaman.
A graveside ceremony will take place Friday, May 4, 2018 at 9:30A.M. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00P.M. – 5:00P.M. at the Rancho Capistrano Winery, 26755 Verdugo Street, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675.
