It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went home to be with the Lord. He passed away peacefully following a brief illness May 20, 2026.

Donald Victor Hitzfield was born December 31, 1930 to Victor and Bertha Hitzfield of Chicago Illinois. He was the youngest of four children. Two boys, two girls.

Donald met the love of his life in 1949 Jeanette June Bradtke. They were married August 30, 1952. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2025.

Donald is survived by his son Ronald, daughter-in-law Annette, daughters Leslie and Karen, and grandchildren Daniel, his wife Emily, John, Neal, Lauren, Matthew, Andrew, and great-grandchildren Logan, and Arthur.

Donald was a follower of Jesus Christ and trusted in Him for his salvation. We take great comfort in knowing we will see him again.
