Obituary

Donald Allen Hill, 89, was born January 17, 1922 in Alhambra, CA and passed away at home in Newport Beach, CA on March 7, 2011.

Donald served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was stationed in Rhode Island where he met his beloved wife Edith, to whom he was married for 65 wonderful years. His career was dedicated to the family business, Hill Brothers Chemical Company for fifty years, serving some of the time as President. Donald’s lifelong hobby was building and flying model airplanes, and he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Donald was a devoted husband and father, and will be lovingly remembered and missed by all of his loved ones.

Donald is survived by his wife Edith; daughters June Milton Albright and Gayle Brooks Benjamin; sons Ron Claudia Hill, Randall Tomoko Hill and Richard Cynthia Hill; brothers Richard and Dean Hill; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Lake Forest, CA.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Donald’s name to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.

    Don beamed with pride whenever we talked about working with his friends at Hill Brothers Chemical Company. And even though I met him just 7 years ago, long after he had retired, he treated me right from the start with the same warmth as if we’d been friends who had worked together for many years.
    So I’ll always have fond memories of Don Hill.

  3. Don was a wonderful caring gentleman who always made me feel like part of the family. I am grateful to know and work with so many of the Hill family. My thoughts are with the friends and family during this time.

  4. I did not have the privilege to meet Don Hill.I work for his company and his son Ron Hill.If the Children followed in Don Hill’s footsteps then Don Hill must have been an exceptional man.My condolences to the Hill Family on their loss.A special place i am sure has been reserved for you.
