Obituary
Donald Allen Hill, 89, was born January 17, 1922 in Alhambra, CA and passed away at home in Newport Beach, CA on March 7, 2011.
Donald served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was stationed in Rhode Island where he met his beloved wife Edith, to whom he was married for 65 wonderful years. His career was dedicated to the family business, Hill Brothers Chemical Company for fifty years, serving some of the time as President. Donald’s lifelong hobby was building and flying model airplanes, and he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Donald was a devoted husband and father, and will be lovingly remembered and missed by all of his loved ones.
Donald is survived by his wife Edith; daughters June Milton Albright and Gayle Brooks Benjamin; sons Ron Claudia Hill, Randall Tomoko Hill and Richard Cynthia Hill; brothers Richard and Dean Hill; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Lake Forest, CA.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Donald’s name to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.

I love you so much! I know that you are making Heaven a happier place with your smile and teaching everyone how to make your model airplanes and flying them around whenever you want! I miss you so much and I will forever be your Mackel.

I never had the privlege of knowing Don, but in knowing his family and their character he must have been a very special person. Our love and prayers go out to all of the Hill family.

Don was a very special person. He always treated us like the true gentleman that he was. He is now in a better place. We are prayful that Eddy and the rest of the family can find comfort and peace with his passing. We wish we could have been to the funeral.
