Dennis Glenn Howe passed away peacefully at his home in San Juan Capistrano on Wednesday evening June 18 2025. Dennis was born March 10 1946 at St John’s Hospital Santa Monica CA.
Dennis grew up in Palos Verdes and later moved his family to Laguna Niguel CA. He joined the Marine Corps as a young man and proudly served his country. After the Marine Corps he entered the Police Academy and became a police officer for the city of Inglewood CA and then the city of Costa Mesa CA and finally the city of Irvine, where he spent the rest of his 30-year career. Dennis went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Redlands in Business.
Dennis was an avid fisherman and enjoyed charter fishing trips with his fishing buddies. He volunteered at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point after his retirement. He always loved and respected the ocean; he was a surfer in his younger years.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 39 years Mary Elizabeth Howe and his 6 children, Karen Howe Matthews, Sharon Howe White, Elizabeth Reilly Dabbs, John Rielly Jr, Christopher Reilly and Bridgett Reilly Walin. He had 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.
Dennis is at peace and can rejoice with the Lord our savior. Funeral services will be held at Saint Edward’s Catholic Church in Dana Point CA on Saturday July 19th at 11:00am. Rosary vigil will be held on Friday July 18th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at O’Connor Mortuary.
