Denise Anne
Hall
December 23, 1963 – January 26, 2023
On January 26, 2023, Denise Anne (Richards) Hall went home to be with the Lord. Born December 23, 1963 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, she was the only child of Larry and Theresa Richards.
She attended college in Pittsburgh at Duquesne University, and following her graduation, worked as a CPA for Touche Ross and PPG Industries.
In 1987, while on a Caribbean cruise, she met her future husband, John Hall. Although their relationship began long-distance, she eventually moved to California and they were married in 1990, settling down in Mission Viejo. With the birth of their son, Jeremy, in 1993, Denise chose to remain a stay-at-home mother, eventually deciding to pursue homeschooling as a vocation. This in turn led to her co-founding and running a homeschooling support group, Holy Family Catholic Homeschoolers. Denise was involved in a variety of other Catholic ministries that ranged from Sunday school and choir to RCIA sponsor, Eucharistic minister to the sick, and driving those in need of assistance to Mass. She enjoyed spending time and playing games with family and friends, skiing, playing piano, planning events, traveling, and going on several pilgrimages with her husband; but perhaps her greatest joy was becoming a Mimi (Grandma). Denise was surrounded by her husband, son, daughter-in-law, grandson, and several friends praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet as she peacefully passed away.
She is survived by her husband John, mother Theresa, son Jeremy, daughter-in-law Molly, and grandson Philip.
A viewing and rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills, California. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo, California, with Father Francis Gloudeman, O. Praem, as celebrant. Burial will be at Ascension Cemetery in Lake Forest, California with Fr. Francis Gloudeman, O. Praem, presiding.
