  1. All I can say is when I started working at CEC, Dawna was my boss, when I began to get to know her, she became my friend. I respected her and will forever cherish all the memories that her and I had. Her spirit will stay in all our hearts and she will be here to guide and take care of us as she did in life. She is in a better place now, free of pain and illness. A place she will be forever happy in, I love you Dawna.

Around the holidays & my birthday, I enjoy retrieving my mail more than usual. Though it’s mostly junk mail – there’s always a special thick & lop-sided envelope that I kept my eyes out for. Knowing that it’s filled with confetti, I carefully opened it to view the content inside. Without disappointing, every year she placed a smile on my face to show that she hasn’t forgotten me. With that she’s left a great impression in my heart and I have no intention of ever forgetting her,

  3. Jeanne and her family had known Dawna since very early on in her life and they have many wonderful memories of her. I had the honor and privledge of getting to know Dawna and be her friend only in the past couple of years. It is hard to believe she has passed now. She certainly was an unforgettable inspiration and pleasure to have known, and she will never ever be forgotten. Dawna was very lucky to have such a loving and careing family and we know that she knew that.
In the hope that it might help ease the pain, even if only a little, for all of us who loved Dawna, we offer a poem:

Do not stand by my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autum rain.

When you awake in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circleing flight.
I am the soft starshine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die!

  4. Dawna,

I enjoyed working with you at Chuck’s over the years. Your hard work ethic and motherly love touched me. You were the mother of the Chuck family. Many people were touched by you. More than you know. I look forward to getting to know you more in heaven. I don’t know why the LORD took you now… But I know that I often take life for granted. May my life, as yours was, be a reflection of God’s beauty and love. May the LORD’s peace and strength rest on all your family and friends,

    with love,

    Elijah
    Psalm 27
