Dawna was a magnificant person. Not only was she a true and great friend, but she was a model human being to so many of us growing up. In the CEC family she was the older sister that would give you “dead arms”. But she was also always there for you, and looking out for you.
Her sense of humor and luaghter will be missed. If there is a CEC in heaven, God has just filled the manager position.

Dawna,
From the time you moved in across the street, I knew you were a special person. Fun, friendly, supportive. Sometimes, it seems like it was only yesterday that we were sitting in your bedroom, listening to the BeeGees on the radio and staring at the Barry Gibb poster. Sharing secrets and goofing off. Going to the beach, the movies, the mall. Walking to school together. Talking about everything. And even though none of that was yesterday, we could pick up the phone and talk like no time had passed. I will miss the instant message chats in the middle of the night, the confetti cards. I will miss you, the amazing friend!
Gene, Lee, Dede & Debra, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love, Daphne

To Dawna
The memory of your gentle spirit
Will never fade away,
It will be with us forever Dawna,
Every single day.
The time we shared was precious
Filled with love and filled with faith,
Without a word you spoke to us
Reminding us to pray.
Your inner strength and courage
Simply can not be described,
A miracle to witness,
Shining bright within your eyes.
We are grateful to have known you
Honored to share in your life,
And humbled by the grace with which
You carried on your fight.
Even in your darkest hours
You filled us all with hope,
And in your quiet loving way
You taught us more than most.
Lessons that are timeless
Far reaching and profound,
With you each moment was a gift
Your influence abounds.
We will always love you Dawna
Until the end of time,
You will be with us forever
In our hearts and in our minds.

To the Mallard Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dawna was truly a very special person. She was a big part of my life growing up at CEC and a true friend. She would always send my children cards for all of the holidays/b-days and that was so special.I did learn very quickly to open them over the trash as to not get confetti everywhere. She will truly be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Wishing you strength for today and hope for tomorrow.
With Deepest Sympathy,

Dawna was such an important part of our lives. She was not only a co-worker but a true friend. She had a wonderful way of getting everyone together for fun occasions, including the CEC reunion this summer. She will be sorely missed.
