  1. Dawna was such an wonderful gift in my life. My memories of her and the things that I have done with her will always hold a special place in my heart. I, too, will always remember the confetti filled birthday cards. Dawna-you never skipped a beat. I will always remember Dawna’s favorite catch phrase—BITE ME! I love you Dawna and until we meet again…may God Bless you and keep you.
    Love Always,

  3. What can I say about Dawna that hasn’t already been said? She was an amazing person, tough as nails and all around joy to be with. I will truely miss my sister in sarcasm, I could always count on her to back me up. We are all better people for having known her and I thank God for letting me have this wonderful woman in my life. Dawna, may God rest your soul,be at peace my friend. You will be forever loved, always missed but never forgotten.

  4. I first met Dawna at Chuck E. Cheese’s where both my Daughters had worked. She would always wisper to me “go ahead and have the buffet, its on me”. Dawna was such a wonderful Lady, She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  5. Dear Gene, Lee, Debra, Dede,
There are no words to describe the grief and sorrow we feel today. Our hearts are broken that Dawna is gone from this earth, but she will live in our hearts forever. We are praying for divine strength for you as you face these days.

Though we know what is coming, we are really never ready to say good-bye. Dawna knew, and knows how much you love her, she can look into your hearts and souls now, freely. She will always be with you. Lean on all those who love you in this difficult time. I wish we were not so far away….sigh.

I want to thank you all for sharing your daughter/sister with us, she was such a generous, happy and funny person. Even though she never had kids of her own, she adopted my kids along with all of her other friends kids and made them part of her family. She never missed a recital, birthday party, Disneyland trip or any of the other kid-related events most single people love to avoid. She truely cared for each and every one of them. I always joked that she owned stock in Hallmark because of all the cards and don’t forget the confetti she would send out for every holiday, birthday, & event that was going on Even when she was fighting off her cancer she still found the time and energy to send cards out to brighten someone else’s day..that was just the person she was! Not only was I lucky to have her as my friend..my kids were so very blessed to have her in their lives too! Gabby especially misses her, but I have so many stories to share with her of all the times we spent with Dawna so she will never forget her. Our hearts are aching..but we are so happy that Dawna is free from pain..she put up such a good fight, she went through so much..she was so brave! We love her!

Gabby, Sean and I are going to send up some pink balloons for Dawna tomorrow to welcome the newest angel in heaven. :

    Love,
Deanna, Rich, Gabby & Sean Gleeson

I called Dawna’s answering machine at the condo today just to hear her voice. Even though it wasn’t one of her corny messages she used to love to leave on there..she sounded good, Just like herself, like the friend I have grown to love over all these years. She was special and we will miss her terribly.
